Here is a rare Larson Brothers-built Maurer from roughly 1935, a project-grade vintage flat top from one of the most respected makers of the era.

This example is from the desirable later Larson period, featuring a solid headstock and an early 14-fret design. Size-wise, it’s roughly equivalent to an 0-size (0-28 style) guitar. It’s built with an Adirondack spruce top, Brazilian rosewood back and sides, and a mahogany neck — a great combination from one of the best periods of American acoustic guitar building.

This guitar will need significant work. It needs a neck reset and has multiple cracks, most notably on the back, along with other typical restoration needs. That said, even as it sits, it sounds very good, and with the proper restoration, it should turn into a fantastic instrument.
