1969 Fender Deluxe Reverb Drip Edge Investment Grade Clean!!!!

Description

Investment grade early 1969 Deluxe Reverb. The reverb tank bag is so clean you could perform surgery on it. This has the ‘drip edge’ trim around the grill cloth, which was used right after the switch from black face.

It also is a killer sounding Deluxe Reverb. I’ve had a bunch of black face Deluxe Reverbs, and this is best sounding one I’ve had.

I’m a certified Cork Sniffing Amp Snob, who thinks all Fender combos have to have the blue Ajax caps or they can kick dirt. This amp sends that theory packing.

This one’s been in my collection for decades, after I bought it from a collector who also owned it for decades. It’s in exceptionally clean condition, with the exception of the one snag to the grill cloth..

All original pre-amp tubes, which must have minimal use on them, as clean as this amp is.

At 22 watts and the same circuitry as the Blackface model, this one hits the sweet spot.

Three original RCA grey plate 7025’s, one 12AX7 grey plate – these tubes are $200 each for NOS. Two original RCA 12AT7’s. One RCA 6V6, one later 6V6, and an RCA 5AR4 rectifier tube. Add it up and it would cost a grand in NOS tubes to replace these, Chinese rebranded tubes wouldn’t come close.

The code stamped onto the cabinet under the reverb tank bag reads F071169. 207 is written is blue grease pen on the baffle board. I don’t know what the 207 means, maybe the day count of the year. Speaker code is dated to 1968, 52nd week. Original reverb pan with correct date stamp. Components have a mixture of 1968 and early 1969 dates.

I had the speaker re-coned on this one years ago by Weber, which is not necessarily a bad thing on these old amps, and the power cord replaced to a three prong. Filter caps have been replaced with F&T caps, so this one will be ready to go.

A well-preserved classic that sounds great also.

Will be professionally packed in a custom built double walled box, padded with Styrofoam sheets.
