Hardware: The saddle has been replaced, and the nut has a small shim underneath.

Modifications / Repairs: The neck has been reset and refretted, with a small shim under the tongue. There is also a shim under the nut. The saddle has been replaced. There is a repaired top crack which is reinforced with internal cleats, and several braces have been reglued. There is a repaired separation near the endpin, as well as a plugged output jack hole on the side of the body. There is a repaired crack running the length of the back as well.

Cosmetic Condition: This vintage Gibson J-185 shows heavy cosmetic wear and use, with many scratches, dings, and other play wear present. The finish is heavily worn around the fretboard tongue, and there is a repaired crack in the top. There is a repaired crack running along the back center seam of the body, and there is a plugged output jack hole on the side of the treble bout. There is checking throughout, and worn finger grooves in the fretboard have been filled and leveled.

Tech Notes: The guitar plays well with low action, and the frets show mild play wear. The serial number dates to 1952.
