1980 Guild F40-BLD Blonde with original case and LR Baggs pickup system
Description
No sales tax for US customers outside California.
This 1980 Guild F-40 BLD is a beautifully aged, American-made jumbo acoustic that delivers the bold projection and rich tonal depth Guild is famous for, paired with the convenience of an LR Baggs pickup system for modern stage and studio use. Finished in classic Blonde (BLD), this guitar combines vintage character with practical performance upgrades, making it an ideal choice for players who want authentic old-wood tone without sacrificing functionality.
I am of the belief that Guild acoustic guitars from this era are grossly undervalued. I've been seeing increased interest, as evidenced by the low stock levels in our Gild Guitars collection, so maybe players are seeing the value as I do. Like all brands, there are eras that aren't the greatest, and some guitars are better than others, but examples like this F40 are fantastic and inspirational guitars that factually go for half of equivalent guitars from their competitors.
So anyway - this guitar is a winner. It plays perfectly with low action and good saddle height. The truss rod has room for future neck relief adjustment. The frets are full. There are no cracks or issues.
The solid spruce top and maple back and sides produce a warm, balanced voice with strong fundamentals, clear highs, and a powerful low end that fills the room with ease.
The large F-body shape offers incredible projection for strumming, while still responding beautifully to fingerstyle playing.
Original hard case included.
As with all instruments at Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, it has been fully inspected, photographed accurately, and professionally set up to play its absolute best.
We buy, sell, and take trades.
