Gibson USA 2006 SG GT
This is the “SG GT,” produced exclusively during the 2006-07 period.
True to its “GT(Gran Turismo) name, this model features many design elements including a racing stripe, a large tailpiece bolted directly to the body back, metal pickup rings and metal tenon covers, and an ebony fingerboard with mirrored dish inlays. These features give it a distinctive look that sets it apart from standard SG models.
Additionally, it incorporates the following specifications to enhance functionality:
- A dual-action truss rod with two rods for enhanced neck strength
- Grover locking tuners
- Neutrik TM locking jacks
- CTS 300k volume pot (with high-pass tone filter)
- CTS 500k tone pot (Push/Pull coil tap function)
There is weather checking on the back of the headstock and near the strap pins, as well as multiple minor scuffs, dents and scratches across the body. These are all consistent with the age of the instrument.
The strap pins have been replaced, and the set screw that secures the bridge to the studs is missing. (This does not affect playability or setup.)
