1963 Fender Stratocaster "Sparkling Blue Re-Finish"

Description

This 1963 Stratocaster features a “Sparkling Blue Finish”—a blue base adorned with scattered silver metallic flakes.

Inside the body, the letters “BS” are branded using a soldering iron. This is one method Fender Factory employs when undertaking repainting work.
It's commonly said that special colors like Sparkle were outsourced at the time, but unfortunately, due to the limited number of actual samples, we cannot determine whether this was an official request from Fender or a private order.

It appears a different tuner was once installed, but it has now been returned to the original Kluson pegs.
The pickups are original black bobbins, but they may have been rewounded.
Frets and nut are replaced.
