This 1960 DeArmond R15T is a beautifully voiced vintage combo amplifier that delivers classic American tube tone with warmth, clarity, and unmistakable character.

Known for their rich cleans and lush tremolo, DeArmond amps are have a cult-like following as sleeper among players and studio engineers who want something a little different from the usual Fender or Gibson offerings. This example has been professionally serviced, making it a reliable, gig- and studio-ready vintage piece.

I performed a cap job on the amp and got some help from my long time tech to get it sounding just right. The amp arrived with a modern replacement speaker, so I added the late 60s, gold Oxford 12T6, which sounds awesome in the amp. I had the speaker reconed several months ago. The tubes were all tested and the power cable swapped out for a grounded one. The pots, tube sockets and jacks were all cleaned. This thing is good to go!

Cosmetically, the amp has typical chassis corrosion. It is impossible to find a DeArmond amp without it. The rest of the amp is in beautiful shape, right down to the original handle. The original tremolo footswitch is included as well.

The amp runs just as it should and sounds so good. If you find another out there, make sure that the filter cap can has been updated and that the tremolo works. Or, just buy here where you know we got the amp running perfectly.

Tonally, the R15T excels at three-dimensional, chiming cleans that stay articulate and musical, then eases into smooth, harmonically rich breakup as you turn it up. The onboard tremolo is deep, warm, and wonderfully organic, adding movement and texture without overwhelming the core tone. The amp is very responsive to pick attack and guitar volume changes, making it easy to move from clean to gritty just with your hands. It’s especially well suited for blues, surf, early rock, and roots styles, and it pairs beautifully with pedals.

As with all amplifiers at Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, it has been fully inspected, photographed accurately, and evaluated to ensure dependable performance.

We buy, sell, and take trades.

Shipping policy:

When you purchase this item you are hereby agreeing to this shipping policy. We remove tubes from amps that could be damaged in shipping. These cases require the buyer to re-install them on delivery - it is very easy with this amp, and we label them so you know exactly where to put them. We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure. Vintage amps are sold as-is because they can need service intermittently. Everything is tested here in our shop on the way into our inventory, and again before shipping. We will cover shipping damage, but we cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in 20-to-50-plus year old amps. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions. If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to . Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
