2005 Martin Geoff Muldaur 00-18H
Description
Model Designed for Geoff Muldaur
Twelve-Fret / Slot-Head
Adirondack Spruce and Mahogany
Sunburst Finish
Based on Geoff's 1941 Martin 00-18H
A model for which we were involved in its development, this is Geoff's signature model. It is strongly based on his 1941 00-18H which is now available from us as well. The story of the model starts with Martin's famous Hawaiian lap-style guitars, which were all 12-frets with a flat fretboard, flush frets and a high nut. Their last series were all 00-18s with sunburst finish that ran from the mid 30s to the early 40s. By now, most of them have been converted to standard (Spanish) playing which involves new frets, radiusing the board and resetting the neck, resulting in some of the best sounding guitars ever.
This modern personalized redo of the original is sunburst as well, with twelve frets and slotted head, Adirondack spruce and mahogany body. The low profile neck shape is done to Geoff's dream shape.
