RARE 1970 Gretsch Old Style Country Gentleman in Amber Red, a RARE finish
Description
A RARE FINISH for this model. GRETSCH Country Gentleman, circa 1969/70, finished in TRANSLUCENT ORANGE (aka Amber Red).
I have had this guitar for 35 years. I bought it and kept it because i haven't seen another Vintage Country Gentleman in the AMBER RED finish vs. the standard Walnut Brown finish.
This is circa 1970, it has what i consider to be the OLD features, before Baldwin made all the early 70's changes that basically ruined their guitars in my opinion.
Just restrung with 11 gauge strings, serviced and tested. The guitar plays well and is functioning correctly. All of the switches and pots are working.
There is some minor binding cracking occurring in several areas that i photographed, but far less than most Gretsch guitars you will see. I noticed that one of the 4 tiny brass nails is missing from the headstock plaque, if i can find one, i will replace it.
The general condition is Very Good and it appears to be 100% Factory-Original including it's Factory-issued Case.
