1951 Fender Esquire
Description
Formerly owned and played by Steve Lukather, this outstanding 1951 Fender Esquire spent decades as one of the most cherished instruments in his personal collection. Purchased in 1979, it quickly became one of his go-to studio guitars.
This Esquire appears throughout the early TOTO catalogue, notably on the Grammy-winning Toto IV (1982) — including the track “We Made It.” Its studio legacy extends far beyond TOTO: Lukather also used it on numerous sessions in the late 1970s, including work with Dolly Parton, and more recently on Ringo Starr’s 2021 single “Let’s Change the World.”
Loved and played by Lukather for several decades, this Esquire is not only a superb-sounding vintage instrument, but also a remarkable piece of recording history. A rare opportunity to own a guitar with deep studio pedigree and direct provenance to one of the most respected session musicians and guitar heroes of the modern era.
