Description
This is a particularly fine example of the model. Not all koa topped guitars sound like this - they can be tight or thin sounding. A Hawaiian koa dealer told me that koa varies a lot in density, so a lighter density top would work better tonally. At any rate, this box is surprisingly full and sweet.
It's also in great condition: all original and just one small spot of pickwear. The koa is high flame and a deep rich color, the set up is perfect, with low action and saddle height that can go either direction, and the neck shape is that perfect early thirties thin, subtle V.
