1965 Gibson Melody Maker D Cherry

Here's a 1965 Gibson Melody Maker D in Cherry finish. Early '65 example with 1 11/16" nut width. Also a stop tail example that is incredibly resonant! Seriously....acoustically one of the loudest guitars you'll ever play! Everything on the guitar is original with the exception of the tuners, which are repro's. The previous tuners were a different size, which left small extra holes, that are now filled. As you can see from the pic's, there's old imprints in the body. Best guess is from the guitar sitting in its case, with either a curly cable or strap underneath it. Everything is structurally perfect. The neck and playability on the guitar is fantastic! Slinky low action from top to bottom. Frets are in good shape as well. Both original single coil pickups are strong, clear, and balanced. Add the stop tail element, and this sings!!! So much bang for the buck here. HSC included...
