The Concept: "The Pheasant and Cherry Blossoms"
For this year's ATB Sakura model, we have chosen the "Kiji" (Japanese Pheasant), the national bird of Japan, as the primary motif.
Known for its vivid plumage and dignified presence, the Kiji has long been a symbol of Japanese natural beauty and culture.
This guitar weaves a new spring story by pairing this iconic bird with the timeless elegance of cherry blossoms.
Exquisite Craftsmanship
The headstock features a stunning Kiji inlay, meticulously crafted using multiple materials to capture the vibrant colors of the male pheasant.
This level of detail is a testament to the advanced techniques of the Aska Factory artisans, who have mastered the art of thematic inlay work.
Stunning "Moezakura" Gradient
The colorway features a delicate transition from pale cherry blossom pink to "Moegi" (sprout green), evoking the feeling of spring’s new growth.
Achieving this seamless gradient between two distinct colors requires the expert hand of a master painter, a skill honed through years of producing Headway’s legendary Sakura series.
Artistry in the Details
The back's center panel is inspired by traditional Japanese ink-wash scrolls (Kakejiku).
Rather than using paint alone, we have combined multiple techniques, including intricate floral inlays, to create a deep, multi-dimensional aesthetic.
Each unit features a hand-stamped "Aska" factory seal.
Because these are applied individually by hand, every guitar possesses a unique character, making your instrument truly one-of-a-kind.
Premium Tonewoods
The top is crafted from Sitka Spruce, hand-selected from Aska Factory’s private stock specifically for the ATB series.
The straight, tight grain ensures a solid tonal foundation.
For the sides and back, we used "Yamazakura" (Japanese Mountain Cherry), prized for its crisp, punchy attack and sweet, melodic overtones.
The back features a 3-piece construction with a center strip of beautiful white Kaede (Japanese Maple), another iconic Japanese tonewood.
