Barclay USA Harmony H615 w/ Goldfoil Pickup 1960s - Sunburst
Description
Here is a cool vintage Barclay USA acoustic guitar! This Harmony model H615 has been electrified by Jack’s Guitarcheology.
It features a concert sized body that is 15 7/8” across the lower bout. It has a 14 fret neck joint, 19 frets total, dot inlays and strip tuners with ivoroid buttons. It sports a cherry sunburst finish with painted-on binding and a painted rosette. The scale length is 25" and the nut width is 1 3/4". There is a goldfoil sound hole pickup added, along with a side mount input jack and a single volume.
The guitar is in great shape overall. It shows some light scratches and scuffs as well as other topical marks. There is some light patina on the guitar and it has a subtle smell of pipe tobacco. There is a strap button added to the neck heel. The neck has been reglued, though probably not reset entirely. The action is nice for an instrument of this ilk and the intonation is pretty good.
It weighs 4lbs 7oz. The neck measures .890 to .990 at the 1st and 9th frets. It has a full, rounded neck profile with a notable shoulder. The guitar plays nicely for the quality and small vintage fret wire. There’s a little sizzle here and there on the frets, but the tone is warm and woody with good clarity. It has nice volume and excellent sustain. The pickup is a cool addition, with a shimmering tone that compliments the guitar nicely.
Includes a vintage chipboard case.
