1962 Gretsch White Penguin (Double Cut) – White
Description
We’re so grateful to have arguably the rarest Gretsch ever made; this gorgeous 1962 Gretsch White Penguin with a double-cut body! It’s estimated that Gretsch only built about ten of these double-cut White Penguins, and only around a handful have surfaced in recent decades. This particular one is a beautiful and original example without any breaks or modifications whatsoever. This Penguin even comes with its original white leather strap! Equipped with two Filter’tron pickups, ruby and pearl encrusted knobs, and well-intact gold binding, this guitar really epitomizes the “holy grail” title it so deserves. Not only is this a beautiful-looking guitar, it certainly has that “Great Gretsch Sound” and feels incredible in hand! This example has been highlighted in several articles, one from Vintage Guitar Magazine included in this case! This guitar is also featured in one of our own blog posts, linked here.
