Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins Hollowbody Thinline 1962 - Western Orange

Description

Here we have an awesome vintage Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins from 1962! This guitar is in very good condition overall.

Features include a hollow maple body, maple neck, ebony fingerboard, thumbprint neoclassic inlays, simulated f-holes and back pad. It has a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece with a smooth bar bridge, ebony bridge base and string mute. It’s loaded with a set of Filter’tron pickups.

This one is in very good shape with light dings, faint scratches and light wear over its surface. The binding has a crackled look and one small area of the back binding has chipped away, but mostly it appears to be stable. The electronics, finish and parts all appear to be original. The piece of foam for the mute has deteriorated. The back pad is worn through and the padding inside has turned to dust. Otherwise the components all appear to be in-tact and functioning correctly.

This one weighs 7lbs 8oz. The neck measures .860 to .990 at the 1st and 9th frets. The guitar sets up well and plays nicely up and down the fingerboard. It has a warm, round, maple tone with bass and treble frequencies present. It’s a resonant guitar too with good acoustic volume from the hollow body. The pickups are bold with a sparkling top end. An excellent example overall.

Ships in the original hardshell case.
