Gibson P-90 Soapbar Pickup With UC 452 B Cover Changed Baseplate? 1950s-1960s

Description

No sales tax for US customers outside California.

A vintage Gibson P-90 soapbar pickup from the golden era — Kalamazoo made, with its original UC-452B butyrate cover intact. The P-90 is the pickup that defined American electric guitar tone from 1946 through the late 1950s, and the originals are increasingly hard to find complete with their period-correct covers. This one has it. Whether you're doing a correct restoration on a Les Paul, Junior, Special, SG Special, or ES-330, or simply want a genuine vintage single-coil in your instrument, a Kalamazoo P-90 with the original UC-452B cover is the right component — not a reissue, not a reproduction, the actual thing.

The lead wire was changed out. There are no mounting screws included.

7.78 k ohms.

Condition

Pickup is in good condition - the cover is in excellent condition. The pickup was in a luthier's project guitar when it arrived and it sounded amazing. The baseplate seems to have been ground a little on the outside edges, perhaps to fit in the project guitar it was in when it arrived. The bobbin has cracked, which is common on these old pickups. All six polepieces are present and turn freely

A genuine Kalamazoo P-90 with its original UC-452B cover — the period-correct component for any serious Les Paul, SG, or ES-330 restoration, or a vintage single-coil upgrade that no reissue fully replicates. Ships securely packed with full insurance.

No Pickup Screws included
