1967 gibson LG-0 playable project guitar
Description
The serial number on the back of the headstock is 892091 (faintly impressed), which dates it to 1967. The guitar is in good playing condition with decent action (though the saddle is at the lowest limit of its adjustability), the neck is straight and the truss rod functions properly. The frets are in good shape. The tuners are the original Kluson open gear strip set, missing one of the bushings (doesn't impact function). Very skinny 1 9/16" neck width at the nut. There is a non-original pick guard adhered to the top. The bridge appears to be original, as does all the interior bracing and the bridge plate. Several of the top braces (it's ladder braced) have been reglued in the past and one of the top braces has a loose end currently that could use some attention. In spite of this the top does not exhibit any sinkage or distortion. The bridge plate has some wear at the pin holes. Cosmetically rough, heavily crazed original finish, lots of dings and scrapes, not pretty. The most significant issue with the guitar is that the top has three top cracks that could use some attention. With proper hydration, glue/clamping and cleating these could be repaired very successfully. As I've noted, the guitar plays fine as it is and the guitar could be used as-is as a knock around beater should you choose not to invest in repairing it. The guitar is offered AS IS, no return option so be sure you want it before you buy it. I guarantee it to be as described and pictured in this listing but please ask any and all questions you may have before you purchase. Comes with a chipboard case. Ships to US destinations only...no international shipping. Email me with your town/zip for a shipping quote. NYS buyers add 8% sales tax.
