"If we wouldn't play it, we wouldn't sell it."
1990 Gibson Les Paul Custom – 100% Original – “PROMOTION” Stamped – Collector Grade
1990 Gibson Les Paul Custom in a classic Ebony finish. This isn't your standard production model; it is a rare Promotional/Artist piece, distinguished by the factory "PROMOTION NOT FOR RESALE" stamp on the back of the headstock. Often reserved for high-profile artists or industry executives, these "Promo" stamped guitars from the early '90s—widely considered Gibson’s "Good Wood" era—frequently received the pick of the finest mahogany and ebony available.
Originality: 100% stock. No changed solder joints, no swapped pickups, no "upgraded" tuners. It is exactly as it left the Nashville plant 34 years ago.
Condition: Rated Excellent. The finish retains a deep, glassy luster with only the most microscopic signs of handling. The gold hardware shows virtually no pitting, and the binding has aged to a beautiful, creamy vintage white.
Playability: The original frets are in fantastic shape with plenty of life. It features the sought-after real Ebony fingerboard and a comfortable '50s-leaning neck profile that feels substantial but fast.
Electronics: Original Gibson humbuckers deliver that quintessential Custom "snap" and thick, harmonic-rich sustain.
Case & Provenance: This guitar has been meticulously maintained in a climate-controlled environment as part of a large, world-class collection. It comes complete with its original Gibson "Chainsaw" or Tan hard-shell case (with the pink shroud)
