1957 Gibson Les Paul – Goldtop (All Gold)

Description

Every so often, a guitar walks through our doors that stops the entire shop in its tracks, and this Goldtop is exactly that kind of instrument! We are beyond proud to present this stunning 1957 All Gold Les Paul Goldtop, a wonderfully preserved example that delivers the perfect balance of originality, vibe, and soul. It checks every box you could hope for in a truly great Goldtop and then some. From the perfect amount of patina to the wonderfully worn-in neck and effortless feel in hand, this is the kind of guitar that reminds you why 1957 is such a magical year for Gibsons. It remains 100% original right down to every solder joint and even the original factory frets. It retains the smaller fret wire typical of the period, yet it plays beautifully and feels remarkably alive. Cosmetically, it proudly shows its 69 years, with nicks, dings, finish checking, and honest playwear that give it the character we all love to see. While many All Golds show heavy greening and significant neck wear, this example displays far less than most we’ve encountered, making it an especially attractive and well-loved survivor. To top it off, it comes housed in its original 5-latch “Cali Girl” case that is clean and a perfect companion to an already extraordinary instrument. Quite simply, this is one of the most compelling Goldtops we’ve had in a long time and is a true collector’s piece that’s equally ready to be played and enjoyed for many years to come!

Overall Condition: 8.5, playwear and patina throughout, but well cared for
