Gibson L6-S Deluxe Pickup Rings 1970s - Black
Description
Mahar's Vintage Guitars is a brick-and-mortar and web-based retailer. We are happy to talk with you before you make a purchase. Please reach out if you feel so inclined! We cross market our items here and on our own site, so items are subject to sale elsewhere at any time (however we will never cancel a sale if it happens here first). See our profile here, our Google reviews as well as our 100% positive Reverb feedback. Also, Reverb limits us to only 25 pictures of our items. There is a good chance we have more. Contact us if you’d like to see them.

These are original 1970s Gibson L6-S Deluxe pickup rings — the correct black pentagon-shaped mounting rings that belong to the Deluxe version of the L6-S. If you're restoring one of the roughly 3,500 Deluxe models produced between 1974 and 1979, these are the pieces that are genuinely difficult to source. The L6-S Deluxe used a specific ring profile to accommodate its "Tar Back" Super Humbucker pickups, which featured a distinctive three-screw adjustment system rather than the more common four-screw arrangement. The pentagon shape isn't just cosmetic — it's a functional and period-correct part of the Deluxe's hardware ecosystem, and getting it wrong is immediately obvious to anyone who knows the guitar.
These rings are being sold as old-stock 1970s Gibson parts. Condition is consistent with age and storage — appropriate for use on a period instrument. If you have an L6-S Deluxe that needs correct mounting rings, this is the kind of part you rarely see come up separately. A solid find for the restorer or the collector looking to return their Deluxe to proper spec.
