1935 Gibson Jumbo Sunburst, Excellent, $22,500.00

Description

Just purchased from the owner of the last 35 years...

This beautiful first year Gibson Jumbo has some pickwear on the top but the back, sides, neck, and headstock are all near MINT. All parts and finish are 100% original.

I had a minor center seam separation repaired but there are no cracks anywhere.
The original bridge plate is in fine shape but the saddle is somewhat low. The action is very comfortable. It has not had a neck set and does not need one now (unless you want to install a tall bridge saddle).

The tone is excellent - I've had several Jumbo's over the years and this is one of the better sounding. Clear, woody highs and mids. Tight bass (not as boomy as a J-35 or J-45 because of the Jumbo's slightly shallower body). Comes in the original hardshell case with some interesting case candy.

This was Gibson's first 16" flattop and was produced in limited numbers for only two years. A very hard to find guitar - especially in this condition!
