1969 Gibson J200 Acoustic Guitar
Here we have a gorgeous and I mean a GORGEOUS, mellow aged cherry Sunburst Gibson J200 acoustic guitar with original Gibson case!. One of the prettiest I’ve ever seen. It came to me with low but still good frets and a wood saddle on the adjustable mustache bridge. That’s right in the late 60’s you would have had ceramic saddle, wood saddle or maybe if you were lucky the adjustable nylon saddles on adjustable bridges. We changed the wood saddle out to a bone saddle and refretted the guitar. Other than this needs nothing. Super clean guitar that sounds so sweet and mellow for a maple guitar. Want to love this guitar so badly, but I love my 57’ J200 with the larger neck better. I did put in a Fishman humbucker sound-hole pickup in this to get its true natural sound. Guitar has some lacquer checking as you would imagine but no cracks or problems, a true vintage relic that sounds and yes smells great as it has the Gibson vintage smell you can’t fake. Smoke free and pet free home. $7.5k. Price guide has them listed as $6,500 to $8,500. Might trade for a vintage Gibson or Martin acoustic. Trade value then would be $8k
