Description

This is a great playing Gibson J-45 made in the USA on the cusp of '54 and '55. Over the course of 1955 Gibson made some changes to the J-45 including a larger pickguard, they stopped using scalloped braces, and the model got a 20th fret. This example still has scalloped bracing, and only 19 frets, but it does have the larger pickguard. The FON dates to 1955 but with the larger guard we think it's an early '55 and have seen a couple of others from the same period with the same specs. The guitar shows light play wear, but is in nice shape for its age with no structural damage. It has had a pro neck reset so the action is perfect. This guitar has been pro-setup in our store, plays great, and comes with a hard shell case.
