1980 Gibson Heritage Series Les Paul Standard 80 Neck Repaired Cherry Sunburst
Description
Gibson 1980 Heritage Series Les Paul Standard 80 Neck Repaired
This is the 'Heritage Series Les Paul Standard 80', the reissue model that pioneered the Historic Collection line. It was crafted by Gibson to meet market demand for a return to their original roots.
Like the original sunburst models (1958–60), it features a volute-free mahogany neck, a small headstock shape, a 17-degree headstock angle, a maple top, a one-piece mahogany back and body, and a rosewood fingerboard – a popular choice among those in their prime years.
It is equipped with Tim Shaw PAF pickups (May 1980) and retains other original parts.
It has a history of neck breakage and has been repaired with a wood block and touch-up lacquer, and shows evidence of overall neck lacquer overlay. Playability is good.
