1965 Gibson ES-355TD – Cherry (Factory Mono)

Description

This 1965 Gibson ES-355TDC features ’64 appointments and original mono wiring from the factory! As Gibson’s top-of-the-line ES model, the 355 features block inlays on an ebony fretboard, a tortoiseshell pickguard, a split diamond headstock inlay, and gold hardware. Most of these guitars were wired stereo with a Vari-tone knob, though mono wiring was also available for order through the catalog. While this guitar sports its original ’65 pots, its ’64 serial number and specs indicate that it was finished in early 1965. This is a stunning instrument that has aged beautifully. While there is some patina present and expected gold plating wear, overall, this guitar maintains a clean look. The Cherry finish is very lightly worn and still so vibrant, making for the perfect wash over this curly maple. This all-original guitar retains its original hardshell case and even comes with its original case cover for extra protection!
