Description

This is a first-year 1958 ES-335TD.
The first-year 1958 Unbound model possesses an atmosphere unmatched by later vintage Gibsons.
Its characteristic shallow neck angle provides significantly better sustain of the sound compared to later models.
It features the original Tune-O-Matic bridge, shaped to match this shallow neck angle, allowing for easy string height adjustment.
Compared to later years, the thinner body top and back materials, combined with the aforementioned neck angle, produce a rich sustain and a light, airy tone—a wonderful sound characteristic of this era.

While showing wear and weathering typical for its age, this vintage gear remains in excellent condition for an item nearly 70 years since production.

The frets and nut have been replaced, and playability is in good condition.
Two pots have been replaced with 70s-era units. The original Kluson tuner buttons were replaced because they tend to shrink.
Additionally, there are signs that a Bigsby tremolo unit was once installed,
though the mounting marks are not very noticeable.
