Description

Gibson 1967 ES-335 Stoptail Mod (Cherry)

This is a modified 1967 ES-335 model with a stop tailpiece instead of a trapeze tailpiece.

It is fitted with PAF pickups with a sticker number, and the neck has the narrow pitch characteristic of this era (nut width: 40.2 mm).

The following parts have been replaced:

- Tuning pegs
- Jack
- Strap pins
- Bridge / Saddle / Bridge studs / Thumb nut
- Frets & Nut

The damage and repair history are as follows:

- Overall refinish
- Filler marks on the neck binding (15th to 20th frets on the 1st string side) and surrounding paint touch-ups
- Crack in the neck binding (10th fret on the G-string side)
- Circular indentation on the front of the headstock around the tuning peg post where a different peg was previously mounted, along with multiple paint touch-ups
- Paint touch-up near the f-hole (D-string side)
- Splice in the lead wire of the front pickup

There is some slight warping in the neck, but proper fret leveling has ensured that the instrument currently maintains good playability.
