Description

We are pleased to offer this one owner, uncirculated ES-335. Purchased from the son of the original owner, this early 1960 335 retains all the late 1959 appointments as well as the "transition" neck with a comfortable C profile—not the blade profile of the later 60s. The guitar was played, but not abused and the finish is gently faded similar to Les Pauls of that era. There are a few small dings and some scratches in the lacquer on the bottom edge that do not go through to the wood. Otherwise the guitar presents very well with beautiful checking on the top and tarnished nickel hardware. The original PAFs measure 7.89Ω at the neck and 8.26Ω at the bridge. The original ABR-1 bridge is perfectly straight with no sag. Frets are original and play well, with no buzzing or dead spots up the fretboard. The original tuner tips were mummified and crumbling, and were replaced with an old set of repro tips we've had in our parts bin for years. They are the correct color and shape and even blacklight. Original tips are included. The original brown Lifton case is in good shape and all latches/hinges work. How does it sound? There is a reason they call these early 335s "burst killers".
