1959 Gibson ES-335 Sunburst

This 59 ES-335 is all about tone and, if you're into it, the figured top. This is a top twenty 335 for tone, just missing the top ten by a whisker. Nearly all 59's are great but some of them stand out from the pack and this is one of them. It is mostly original-the frets have been done and the tuner tips have been replaced. It had other tuners at some point but there are no additional holes from them and the shaft holes have been doweled and re-drilled which is the proper way to do it. PAFs are original-the neck pickup is sealed but the bridge pickup cover has been removed at some point and resoldered. There is no sign that it has been out of the guitar or rewound. The neck is medium/chunky at .84" at the first fret and .95" at the twelfth. The headstock has a stinger which is unusual in 335's but certainly not unheard of. The guitar shows very little wear-nothing through the finish or worthy of note. Case is a Stone - brown with pink interior. If you're looking for a case queen that you can look at all day, this isn't your guitar. If you want a monster player that will show everyone why a 59 335 is often considered a "burst killer" this is the one. Plug this into a tweed Bandmaster or Bassman and you won't see god but you'll definitely hear him (small "g" small "h")
