Gibson Custom Shop 2023 Murphy Lab 1968 Les Paul Custom Ultra Light Aged
This is the “1968 Les Paul Ultra Light Aged” model, which has been aged by the Murphy Lab, a team specializing in aging led by Tom Murphy, a founding member of the Gibson Custom Shop and a leading aging expert.
The Ultra Light Aged finish recreates the appearance of a vintage guitar that has been carefully stored in a case, bearing weather checks and minor damage. The guitar features an ebony black finish, an ebony fingerboard, a maple top, and a mahogany back, all of which are true to the 1968 specifications.
It has diamond head inlays, gold hardware, sombrero knobs, block position markers, and Klurson waffle-back tuners, as well as a relatively thin Authentic '68 Medium C-Shape neck. Weighing in at 4.15kg, it is a relatively lightweight Les Paul Custom.
It has two 68 Custom Humbucker pickups, developed by former Historic Product Manager Edwin Wilson.
The guitar shows almost no of wear and is in excellent condition, with minimal fret wear and no problems with the neck or truss rod.
