Gibson Custom Shop 2024 Murphy Lab M2M 1954 Les Paul Custom “w/Humbucker” Ultra Light Aged
This is a special "1954 Les Paul Custom" model that has been "M2M (Made To Measure)" ordered, which allows you to specify the specs.
The bridge pickup is a humbucker instead of the usual Alnico V & P-90 pickup configuration.
The neck shape is not the usual thick "Early '50s Rounded" but a slightly thinner "50's Rounded Medium C", and medium jumbo frets are used instead of the conventional vintage type.
It has been aged by Murphy Lab, a team specializing in aging led by Tom Murphy, a founding member of the Gibson Custom Shop and a leading aging expert.
The guitar is "Ultra Light Aged," which is the lightest of the four aging levels, and replicates a vintage guitar that has been carefully stored in a case with weather checks and minor damage.
Diamond head inlays, chrome hardware, saucer knobs, block position marks, Kruson waffle back on the tuners, and original Alnico V (P-480) and Custombucker pickups.
The pickguard and switch tip (Montreux) have been replaced.
There is a tiny dent on the back of the neck (3rd fret) and next to the selector switch that each of them are not due to aging treatment.
Fret wear is minimal, and the neck and truss rod are in good condition.
