1999 Gibson Custom Shop Historic Collection 1959 Les Paul Aged Iced Tea
Description
Gibson Custom Shop 1999 Historic Collection 1959 Les Paul Aged
This is the highly regarded 1999 “Historic Collection 1959 Les Paul Aged” model, from the first year of the aged model series.
Tom Murphy, a leading expert in aging techniques, has masterfully recreated the weather checks and small scratches that come with age, giving the guitar a dignified appearance.
The maple body top has a rich grain that changes appearance depending on the viewing angle, and the pickups are equipped with two original 57 Classics.
It shows damage consistent with its age, likely acquired after leaving the factory rather than during the aging process. This includies numerous buckle marks on the body back, reddish fading and unevenness on the neck and the back of the body sides, dents around the perimeter, and paint damage from a stand on the neck grip at the 10th and 11th frets.
The back of the body shows some buckle marks, the back of the neck and body exhibit uneven reddish discolouration, there are some tiny dents around the outer perimeter, and the neck grip at the 10th–11th frets has stand-related paint damage. All of these damages are age-appropriate and were likely incurred after factory shipment, not during the artificial aging process.
