Description

Some say the most worn-in guitars are the best ones, and this 1964 Gibson ES-335TDC, with its factory Bigsby, makes a strong case for that. Clearly loved and played on countless gigs throughout its life, this guitar has the kind of honest wear that only comes from decades on real stages, and it’s more than ready for many more. Cosmetically, it wears its history proudly with nicks, dings, scratches, finish checking, and a touch of buckle wear that give it an undeniable character. There is a small area between the two pickups that shows as a touch-up under black light, though it is difficult to detect with the naked eye. The electronics are all original and include a beautifully balanced set of Patent Sticker pickups. The pickup covers were removed at one point in its life but have since been reinstalled. The guitar also had Grover tuners installed for a period, but the original Kluson tuners are back on and holding tune perfectly. A professional refret with medium/jumbo wire has brought the playability to another level, as it currently plays effortlessly. This guitar features a custom-made plaque with inserts beneath. This would allow a player to convert this guitar to a stoptail piece if the Bigsby is not to their liking. If you’re looking for a ’64 ES-335 that combines killer looks with truly inspiring tone and feel, then this one delivers in every way!
