1962 Fender Twin-Amp
Description
Model 6G8A per the tube chart. A legendary Fender amp for a rich tube tone with fidelity rarely found in today’s amps. This era of Fender has 6 preamp tubes for pitch-changing vibrato, a feature gone by 1963 as this type of vibrato was too expensive to build. This amp has original grille and tolex, original transformers, and a matched quartet of Tuhg-Sol JAN (joint Army-Navy) 6L6 power tubes. That’s about $600 worth of tubes. The speakers are replaced but are a pair of really cool matching Oxford 12T6 heavy-duty 12” units, the same type of speakers you would see in these white Twins, as they are rated for 45 watts each. Expect a buttery warmth and a sweet breakup when pushed. The “dogbone” handle is a reproduction. These have light pine cabinets (aged 64 years for better resonance.) The power cable is original. On the back panel is a ground switch, power switch, standby switch, extension speaker jack, and vibrato pedal jack. All stock, no extra holes or monkey business. See our video about this amp on our Facebook page or YouTube channel. We only ship vintage amps one way. No returns.
