1969 Fender Swinger – Red
Description
We love an oddity, and this 1969 Fender Swinger, in its original Red finish, is undoubtedly a quirky guitar from Fender’s history. The Swinger, or “Arrow” or “Musiclander” as it is also known, was born from a surplus of parts from the Bass V and Musicmaster lines and labeled as another student-level guitar model. Never advertised and born on the R&D floor, these were often finished in whatever custom colors Babe Simoni and the guys decided. We have seen them in LPB, CAR, Competition Burgundy, and Oly White, but this one comes in the Red finish used on Mustangs. The short scale and petite neck make this an enjoyable guitar to play, and the single coil pickup in the neck position puts out some unique tones. This particular piece was played throughout its lifetime and still sports all the original components, wiring, and even its original case!
