1971 Fender Stratocaster Hardtail Sunburst

This is a great playing and feather weight hardtail Fender Stratocaster from the Hendrix era. Original sunburst finish. The date codes span 1969 to 1971 - neck and pots date to 1969 but pickups and serial number are 1971, and the body has the squared off pickup routes indicative on 1971. Given the dates we cannot be sure whether the neck and body originally came together although both are original and from the same era. The pickups are original but appear to have been rewound. The pots are also original and date to '69. All the other parts appear correct although there are a couple extra screw holes so it may have had a different guard at one point. The tuners are correct but it had other tuners at one point as well. The front of the headstock has a filled screw hole from a second string tree and appears to have some overspray over the decal. We think the decal originally included "with synchronized floating tremolo" but that appears to have been removed at some point. It has been pro-refretted. This one weighs just 6 pounds and 14 ounces. It has been pro-setup in our store and plays great. It comes with the original case.
