1959 Fender Stratocaster Slab Board Sunburst FANTASTIC PLAYING
Description
This is an exceptionally clean and original 1959 Fender Stratocaster Slab Board. The neck on this one is particularly incredible. A perfect feel that is not too bulky but not as thin as some 1959/60 Stratocasters I have played. The neck is also perfectly, dead straight. The original factory small frets have plenty of life left and all come together to make this an incredible playing and inspiring, extremely fantastic feeling/ sounding instrument as well as being collectable example!
The guitar has a newer nut, two replaced tuners, (originals are in the case and I am getting around to seeing if they are usable/ can go back on the guitar) and at some point the term cavity was altered slightly to give the term block clear travel (see photo). This is of course unnoticeable with the back cover on and is a relatively minor issue.
The Body is dated 12/59 in the trem cavity, the neck bears no date (as is typical of most 1959 year Fender electrics) and the potentiometer codes are 5948: 48th week of 59 across all three original pots. Solder joints appear completely untouched and the electronics all appear to be 100% stock. Pickups measure: 6.47 Ohms in the bridge position, 5.53 in the middle and 6.27 in the neck position. They sound absolutely incredible.
