1957 Fender Stratocaster Sunburst
Description
Now available, a mid 1957 Fender Stratocaster in its original 2-tone sunburst finish.
This is a great example of a 1957 Fender Stratocaster that has been well played however remains in mostly original condition. The guitar shows typical wear through the lacquer on the maple neck, and through the 2-tone sunburst finish on the body. Overall however it presents in good shape with no signs of touchup or overspray. At some point a medium jumbo re-fret was performed and a new nut installed, luckily the lacquer on the neck remains all untouched. Otherwise the only changed parts are the pickup height grommets (originals included), and the volume pot track due to wear (original track included, solder untouched on the back of the pot).
All of the plastics and hardware are correct, including the 1-ply pickguard, pickup covers, knobs, switch tip, and the backplate/screws. The 3x original black bottom pickups are healthy and untouched with original coils, and the wiring harness is original except for the forementioned volume pot track. All 3x Stackpole pots date to the 15th week of 1957, which lines up with matching body and neck dates of June.
The frets play great as-is, with some wear to note from frets 1-12. Its currently setup with 10-46 strings and a low action. A truly fantastic playing example of a classic year for the Fender Stratocaster!
Includes its original tweed case, period strap, backplate/screws, and tremolo arm.
