1954 Fender Stratocaster – Sunburst (Trem Cover Serial #)

Description

What’s not to love about this road-worn 1954 Fender Stratocaster?! It’s so early, its serial number is located on the Tremolo cover plate. We’re lucky enough to have several of these early “Salesman Sample” Stratocasters, but this one has one of the best vibes. As we’ve mentioned in our blog, these Trem Cover serial numbers were the first 200 Stratocasters made. These examples were given to traveling reps as they went store to store to help promote the “new” model. The rarity of this instrument did not deter its former owner from playing this one quite a lot, and with how great it sounds it feels, we can’t blame them! Despite the wear, this guitar retains the majority of its original parts, aside from one deluxe tuner key (high-e), two knobs (volume and neck tone), and the switch tip. If you’re looking for a true piece of Fender history that you don’t have to worry about keeping mint, this is the piece for you!
