1966 Fender Jazz Bass Three Tone Sunburst

Description

1966 Fender Jazz Bass. Classic Three Tone Sunburst with blocks and binding on the rosewood fretboard. Very Original. Includes OHSC. Newer SKB HSC also included. I have owned it for 18 years. I purchased it through Guitar Center's Vintage Sales. Zero issues. No mods. Originally owned by Dennis Yost, lead singer of The Classics IV (songs like Stormy, Spooky, etc.). Guitar Center told me Dennis sold it to them to cover some medical expenses. Sadly, he passed away a year after I bought the bass. I have spoken with Wally Eaton, the bass player for the group. He said Dennis played a lot.

Fantastic natural patina to the original nitrocellulose lacquer. It is from being played across this country by a professional musician. That is why it looks better than fake patina applied at the Fender Custom Shop (love their stuff, but real is better). This old man actually earned his scars. Amazing mellow sounds. Easy neck to play, even for a hack like me.

One screw hole on the original tortoise shell pickguard is broken. I replaced it with a new Fender pickguard so it would not get worse. The original can be seen at the bottom of the open case picture along with the other pick-up cover. The OHSC needs new latches to be trustworthy. That is why I always used the SKB case, and it will be shipped in the SKB inside of the box.

This piece of art is too nice to live in my closet. It should be owned, loved, played, and displayed by a real bass player. I have always been a better collector than player. By the way, I do know how to ship guitars properly so don't fret (see what I did there).
