Fender Custom Shop 2014 MBS 1968 Stratocaster Relic Master Built by Jason Smith
This is the “1968 Stratocaster Relic” model crafted by master builder Jason Smith.
Its specifications reflect the changes made in 1968:
- A CBS logo bearing the inscription 'WITH SYNCHRONIZED TREMOLO'
- A polyurethane-finished neck (with a lacquer finish only on the front of the headstock).
- F-key tuners.
The neck has a moderately rounded “U” profile. Three custom black bobbin pickups, hand-wound by Josefina Campos, have been installed.
There is some damage not originally present on the relic finish is visible here and there, but it doesn't look unnatural. The neck and truss rod are both in good condition, resulting in excellent playability.
Appearance: Minor scratches present, but good for its age
Frets: Levelled with no dents; over 70% intact
