Fender Custom Shop 2013 1972 Telecaster Custom Closet Classic
This is the “1972 Telecaster Custom Closet Classic” model with a Shoreline Gold finish.
The 'Closet Classic' finish gives the guitar a slightly muted appearance, free from dents, scratches or weather checking.
This model features specifications from early 1970s, including a wide-range humbucker neck pickup, laminated maple fingerboard, three-point neck joint, a bullet truss rod, and F-type tuners. However, it features back contouring, which was unavailable at the time.
The neck has a slightly thicker '69 U-shape profile and a 9.5" radius fingerboard with narrow-tall frets for optimal playability.
The bridge pickup is a hand-wound Twisted Tele with the signature of Josefina Campos.
There is a shallow dent near the 4th fret on the back of the neck, scuff marks near the joint plate, scratches on the pickguard, and some tarnish on the metal hardware. The jack plate has been replaced with a screw-on type.
The frets are in good condition with over 80% remaining, and there are no problems with the neck or truss rod.
