The EMG T set — FT neck and RT bridge — is one of the most practical and well-regarded active pickup upgrades available for Telecaster-style guitars, and this is a complete, ready-to-install package pulled from a working guitar in excellent condition.
The FT has a reputation among EMG players as the sweetest pickup in the entire EMG catalog. The Alnico magnets and custom-engineered coil give it a warmth and tonal complexity that active pickups don't always deliver — the neck position chimes without the ice-pick harshness that plagues passive single-coils in that position, and there is a richness in the low end that makes it genuinely useful for clean, driven, and recorded tones alike. The RT bridge pickup covers the other end of the Tele equation — twang and bite and that familiar Telecaster clarity — but without the hum and microphonic noise that passive Tele bridge pickups are notorious for.
