1979 ALEMBIC Series Ⅰ MSB "Factory Full Rifurbish with PF-6 Preamp"

Description

ALEMBIC Guitars, the founder of high-end guitars in the 70s.

The neck and body, constructed from a combination of different woods, produce long sustain.
It achieved groundbreaking tone control for its time through a low-impedance pickup that thoroughly minimized noise and an active circuit utilizing not only an internal battery but also an external power source.
As a new guitar unlike anything on the market, it took the world by storm and was beloved by many professional players.

This is a 1979 Series 1 MSB base model.
It's a highly sought-after vintage ALEMBIC bass, featuring the rare PF-6 preamp.

This instrument underwent a full refurbishment at the Alembic Factory several years ago.

The process spanned several years and involved considerable expense, undertaken at the owner's request to restore it as an instrument capable of practical use decades from now, while the manufacturer still exists.

As with the original production in the 70s, the finish has been completely refinished from the base coat. The assembly primarily uses original components, with some wiring and other parts showing deterioration having been replaced.
Metal parts were polished and then restored to like-new condition with clear lacquer, matching the original finish.

The rare PF-6 preamp has been readjusted while retaining its original state, and the pickups have been restored, including the hum canceller.

Alembic continued operating as it did back then, we've achieved the same condition as a brand-new unit from the 1970s.

This restoration was only possible because Alembic avoided the path many brands have taken: selling off the brand, changing or closing the original factory, or simplifying processes through technological innovation.

Includes the original power supply unit, Canon cable, and original blue-covering hard case.
