1956 Gibson Les Paul 56/59 Burst Conversion
Description
There are several ways and levels to do old wood Les Paul conversions. This one is at the top, a 1956 P90 goldtop that was converted to 59 Burst specs. This guitar did not need a neck reset. It came from the Gibson factory with the correct neck angle for the ABR1 bridge. The ABR1 bridge placement and stop tail bushings are original factory issue. The mahogany body, maple top, mahogany neck, bindings, holy headstock veneer & Gibson MOP are original. The only wood not original to the guitar is the fretboard. I had to replace it with a Brazilian fretboard (from around 68), nitrate inays & Bartlett binding. I saved the original S/N and can be seen from the conversion process pics. Correct pore filler, aniline dyes and nitro lacquer were used to create a beautiful faded sunburst finish with lots of natural checking. Lightweight at 8lbs 6oz. $68,000. This guitar started out as an all original 1956P90 Goldtop Les Paul (no breaks). The mahogany body, maple top, mahogany neck, Body Bindings are original to the guitar. Someone roughly routed the guitar out for humbuckers and also installed Abalone inlays. The fretboard has been replaced with a dark Brazilian fingerboard, Correct 50’sstyle Nitrate inlays and Bartlett binding.
